Artic Monkeys website

Arctic Monkeys

The website features a black background with white text which similar to the front cover of their most recent album 'AM'. Still gives it a very simplistic feel towards the website but this emphasises they want to be different to mainstream bands and highlights they are a indie band.

The Home tab features the usual twitter and facebook 'buttons' to connect with fans.

They still trying to sell their album even though it came out in 2013 but the website is their to promote the band.

They have a youtube video at the top of the website which shows there tour in South America. It is postioned at the top because I think this will appeal to fans.

The 'Home' tab is there to promote the most important stuff such as the newest Album, social media, festivals and has a link to the band's store.

There photos section features photoshoots going way back to 2007 for their album Favourite Worst Nightmare and european tours in July 2009. This for fans to look back on stuff the band as done ealier on in their career.

I like the way the Photo site is laid out with all the photo albums available on the the right hand side and all the photos in the album are positioned in centre.

The 'Releases' page shows all the singles and albums they have ever recorded. This gives a chance for new fans to look at older albums/songs they have previously done. Likewise to the previous tab of 'Photos' there list of album and signles are postioned down the right hand side and are also in chronological order which makes it easy. Also like the way they have displayed all the front covers for singles, albums and DVDs etc they have ever made. When you hover a front cover it tells you all the details such as whether it is a album or single and tells you whether it is available in CD, MP3 etc.

They have a 'Fans Forum' and sign up page to connect with fans.

In their store, the products they are selling are albums, singles, T-shirts, hats, DVDs, song books and photo programmes.

I think the black background and white text works because the white text stands out.

I also like the way the tabs at the top are still present when scrolling down a page which makes it easier to click on a different tab. The tabs are also present on the bottom of every page.

To conclude I really like this website because the layout is very good and the navigation is easy and helpful. I also think the colours of the website are trying to represent a rock indie image.
